I used to work for America Online on their community team. The guy who ran the home pages feature sat next to me, so I would test out their new templates for him. Fan fiction was all the rage at the time, so they were cashing in by having a Britney Spears fan fiction template.

I wanted to bring a little something extra to the pop goddess, so this is what I came up with.

Soul of the Samurai

Britney was the perfect warrior. She lived only to perfect her skills, to hone her martial arts as she honed the fearsome blade of her sword. In times of peace she was a pillar of quiet strength and wisdom. On the battlefield she was an opponent to be feared. There was no dishonor to leave this world by her hands.



The Inner Beauty

But there was more to Britney than just the master samurai. Inside her there was the romantic heart of a young woman in the prime of her life. Beneath her battle scarred armor she was as soft as any of the young womem who stayed in the village to pursue more domestic lives. If anything, her longings to have a quiet life and love of a farmer made her stronger on the outside.




This too shall pass

Britney kneeled before her altar and asked her ancestors for strength. Today would be her last battle. Today she would draw her mighty blade for the last time. Today she would leave the battlefield victorious, and return to the village where she was born to find her husband and start a family of her own. Or today she would meet an opponent worthy and join her ancestors.
She stood slowly, sheathed her terrible blade, and slid her helmet over her long blonde tresses. Today....
